Reading:
Bowling to Find a Lost Father.
Questions:
1. What was it that caused Her’s father to go bowling a second
time?
What caused him to go bowling for
a second time was the emotional closeness that he felt with his family when
they were together.
2. Do you agree with her that it must have been ‘’frightening’’
for her father to live with children who had adopted American culture and an
American lifestyle?
Yes, I agree that it must have
been frightening for her father to live with children who had adopted American
culture and an American lifestyle because he was raised in a different way and
by a different culture and maybe besides that he was in America he wanted to
have his children’s raise the same way he was raised in his own culture.
3. Why does the author feel ‘’odd’’ teaching her father to
bowl?
I think that the author felt odd because
the normal way and the right way in any culture is that your parents teach you
how to do things not the other way around. The fact that his father didn’t know
how to bowl was the way that he was raised
Have you ever taught a parent or grandparent something new-
perhaps how to use a cellphone, send an e-mail, or conduct an Internet search?
Explain the feelings you experienced as you did this. Where you proud? Excited?
Embarrassed?
I taught my parents how to use the
internet and the cell-phones. When I was teaching them It was a little frustrating
because they were slow learners. They easily forgot what I have taught them at
the other day. But little by little they learned how to use the internet and
the cell-phones by themselves. Know I
feel proud of them and myself because of that.
Assignment
/ Writing an Essay
When I was in
elementary school, I remember I had two best friends Jean and Jassae. Since
little kids we were very close. We were called nerds because we always had good
grades. While time passed our friendship grew stronger. We were so close that
each of their moms wanted me to be their girlfriend. It seems funny know that I
mention it. But time kept passing by we graduated and each went to different
schools, we also made new friends.
I was already in
high school when I decided to open a Facebook account. Every day I learn how to
use it. So much time had passed by that I had totally forgotten about my old
friends I did not even remember their last names. Even if I see them around I would
not know is them, because they had probably had changed physically, just like I
had. One day I opened my Facebook account, I had a friend request and to my
surprise it was from Jean. He had Jassae’s Facebook account and gave it to me.
We started talking, but not that often, because I had lost trusted and it was
not the same.
Jean
had moved to United States. I planned to go out as soon has he visited P.R. So
we all went to the movies and to eat. After that special moment every time Jean
visited P.R we always go out. I remember that when they saw me they did not
recognize me. Something that I have understand and learned of our friendship is
that no matter how much time has passed by without seeing each other our
friendship never ends.
